PORT NECHES-GROVES SOCCER RELIES ON ATTACKING DUO TO STAY IN THE MIX FOR DISTRICT TITLE

With just five games remaining in District 21-5A, the Port Neches-Groves boys soccer team (14-3-4, 4-2-1) will need junior wide midfielder Jason Lovejoy’s play-making and sophomore forward Jesus Maldonado goal scoring if the Indians want to stay in contention for a district title. The Indians visit district leader, Dayton (17-2-4, 6-1-1) on Friday night. For Lovejoy, assisting means just as much to him as hitting the back of the net. He already has the most assists in program history (82), including the 31 assists from this season alone. Lovejoy has always had a knack for finding his teammates as he recorded 29 assists as a freshman, and 22 in his sophomore season.
